"I Do" Tuesday: Disney Princess Bridal Gowns

Like every other girl dreaming about her wedding, I have always said that my dress will be perfect (to me at least)!!  I want everyone to see me and say, “That is most definitely a ‘Mallory’ dress.”  So of course for the last several years I have been scouring the Internet trying to find my perfect dress, and not so long ago I came across a collection done my Alfred Angelo.  There were seven gorgeous dresses in this collection and a Disney Princess inspired each one!
I almost died; this collection was made for me!!!  It combined two of my favorite things, weddings and Disney Princesses!!!!  I looked at every detail on each dress and finally decided that I had found my perfect dress!!!  I even went as far as finding where to buy it and telling my Momma that we must go try them on!!!  Ring or no ring, I needed to try these gowns on!!!
Well, It was a sad day when Mom told me it would be a little strange to go and try on bridal gowns without being engaged first, so we never went.
Well flash forward back to today, I was trying to figure out what to post about today and I remembered these gowns.  I went to the website, and to my pleasant surprise, there are TEN NEW GOWNS!!!  I will not lie, I almost cried!!!  These new gowns are just as gorgeous as the first seven!!

Here are a few of the gowns; see if you can figure out what Princess inspired each gown!!!

Just think of how one of these dresses can inspire your entire wedding!!!

Look at the amazing detail put into each gown!!!  If it were possible to change into a new dress like 15 different times I would SO DO IT!!!

I hope y'all loved these as much as I do!!!!

"I Do" Tuesday: Wedding Blogs

I may not be engaged, but I have been planning my wedding (seriously) since about my senior year of high school, so I like to think I know how stressful planning a wedding can be J. I am pretty sure that between my senior year and now, I have changed my theme and colors about 50 times!!!
There are tons of places to find ideas and inspiration that I decided to list 7 of MY favorite wedding blogs!!!

2.     Style Me Pretty

3.     Southern Aisle

4.     Once Wed

7.     100 Layer Cake

I really could go on ALL DAY telling y'all everything that I love about each of the 8 websites, but I don’t have that much time, and I'm sure y'all don’t want to spend all day reading my blog!!  So instead I’ll just let y'all check out each of the blogs and see for yourself why these are great for ideas and inspiration for brides-to-be!!

Enjoy!!

Must Have: Statement Necklaces

Jewelry is something that I never really think about.  I usually wear the same few bracelets and my NC State ring everyday, and if I did wear a necklace I would end up wearing it for like 2 weeks straight because I usually forget that I am wearing it.  I have recently fallen in love with wear colorful, statement necklaces!!  Here are a few necklaces that either I own, or would love to own and the best part is that most of them are under $50!!

I will start with the least expensive first.  I have the first and the second necklace in coral (that I am wearing today!!)  Hopefully I will own the last one in the next few weeks :)
ShopRuche.com $28.99
Madison around $34
zhush $48
Here are two that I absolutely love, but are more on the expensive side!
Jcrew $150

This is the necklace my sister-in-law wore at her wedding, but I'm not sure of the price or where it is from.  Isn't is gorgeous!!

What I love most about statement necklaces is that you can totally transform an outfit by wearing one of these!!  I love to pair a necklace with just jeans and a t-shirt, just to add something extra to my outfit.

Be creative when getting dressed and pair a statement necklace with anything!! I promise it will look amazing and add a little fun to your outfit!!!

Fabulous 5 on Friday

This Friday I have decided to do something a little differently.  Instead of telling y'all why I am super excited that it is finally the weekend, I have decided to tell y'all what I am really into or really want at this moment!!
Hope you like it!!

1.     “The Hunger Games” Tirlogy— I honestly do not even know where to begin when talking about this book series!!!  I just finished the last book today and I am so sad that they are over, but I do have the movies to look forward to which I hope they live up to the books!!!  I will not give any details of the books away because I don’t want to ruin them for you and plus it would take me forever to just give y'all a summary!! But I will say that I usually do not pick science fiction to read, but I could not put these books down!! I read all 3 in less than 3 weeks!!  If you have some spare time or are looking for a great read I most definitely suggest “The Hunger Games” trilogy by Suzanne Collins!!

2.     Since it is almost Spring, and considering I have tons of bridal showers, bachelorette weekends, and wedding within the 5 months I think that it is quite alright that I am planning ahead for what I am going to wear!!  Recently I found this amazing dress from Anthropologie.  I love it!! I think it is perfect for any spring or summer event and hopefully it will be in my closet really really soon!!!!
Bike Lane Dress from Anthropologie
3.     A trend that I have been into lately is statement necklaces!!  I love that you can add that little to an outfit just by putting on an outstanding necklace!!   This week y'all can expect a post dedicated completely to statement necklaces!!!  I cannot wait for y'all to see the awesome ones that I have found!!  Here is a necklace that I bought last week!!
found at ShopRuche.com
4.     Isn’t it always the case that you want what you don’t have??  This applies completely to my hair!!  I have fairly straight hair, but I love love love curly hair!!  My hair is also super thick and it usually takes me about an hour to put in hot rollers, then I have to wait for them to cool, and curling my hair with a curling iron just doesn’t hold very long.  So in the past few weeks, I have learned 3 tricks to curling my hair!!  The first and second way was found through Pinterest, the sock bun curl and the headband curl.  They sound super weird, but I promise next week ill show you how they work!!  The last way is using a straightener!!  I know that sound super strange to, but by simply twisting the straightener while you run it through your hair, it curls it, and the curls last for a really long time!!!

This is my hair after sleeping in a headband and then adding some more curls with the straightener
 5.     I have found a new love for IPhone cases!!  Before, I would have the same case on my phone until I would upgrade it, but now there are just so many super cool cases for my phone!!!  I have only had my phone since September, but I already have 4 cases, and I plan on getting a ton more!!!  Maybe then I can match my case with my outfit!!!  Each of the cases that I have included can be found here: Society6.  They are about $35 each which is a little pricey.  If you think about the case as a new accessory it's not much more then you would pay for a new necklace or bracelet!!

Enjoy!!!  and Happy Friday!!!

"I Do" Tuesday: Groom's Cake!!

Happy Tuesday!!  I hope everyone had a fantastic day off yesterday!!

I have decided that because I love weddings so much, and because so many of my friends are getting engaged I will post wedding ideas and inspirations each Tuesday!!!
Tuesday will now most likely become my favorite day of the week!!!

Today I have decided to feature some amazing groom's cakes that I have seen at weddings or come across while spending a million hours on Pinterest and The Knot.

This was my big brother's cake!! It was made from Rice Crispy treat!
found on Pinterest
Sweet Flamingo Cake Co.

The Great thing about groom's cake is that they can be anything!!  Anything from his Alma Mater, his favorite sports team or past time!! All you have to do is be creative!!

Another great thing about theses cakes is that they do not necessarily have to be tiered cakes.  As you can see from above and below, a groom's cake can take the form of a hat or a mascot.  I have even seen some that look like coolers filled with beer!!!  It is really completely up to the Bride to decide what she wants to give her Groom.

Found on the Knot
So Brides-to-be I hope this has inspired y'all to give your Groom-to-be something personal and amazing!!  So get creative and think up something special that he will love!!!

Fabulous 5 on Friday

Happy Friday the 13th!!!

I am sorry that I have been slacking in the post department this week, but I have been pretty busy (thinking about new and creative post), and the website has been acting up (which I think everything is fixed now!).

But, today is Friday and here are my top 5 reasons why I am so glad!!!

1.  Beauty and the Beast 3D--  Ok, I have a little confession to make, I love love love Disney princess movies, and Beauty and the Beast is one of my top favorite movies of all time!!!  This weekend Beauty and the Beast 3D comes out in theaters and I want to go see it soo bad!!  I will say that I may hold off to go until next weekend because I am sure the theater will be full of 5 years old little girls decked out in their full Belle attire and their Mommas!!  Although I know what happens, I will be sure to let y'all know how it was in 3D!!!

2.  Family dinner tonight-- Yay!! nothing much to explain here :)

3.  3 day weekend--  I know it has not been to long since we came back from Christmas Break, but we have a 3 day weekend and I am so glad!!!

4. Shopping--  I know, it seems that every weekend I plan to go shopping...
But, I will say that I do not go shopping every weekend but thinking that I may makes me happy!!  But, I do believe I am gonna go outlet shopping on Monday!!!

5. Getting my online order (hopefully)--  So lately I have had a small obsession with big, statement necklaces.  I have a few already, and earlier this week I found a really pretty one for pretty cheap ($28), so I bought it, and of course I had to get a top to wear it with!!  Hopefully they will come in the mail sometime this weekend, and when they do I will definitely show them to y'all!!!

Well, I hope y'all have an amazing weekend!!!

Fabulous 5 on Friday

Happy first Friday of the New Year!!!  I hope everyone is sticking to their resolutions!! :)

I did not list my resolutions... but here are 5 reasons I am ready for the weekend and the New Year!!!

1.  Last day of Hunting Season--  That's right girls!! the boys are coming out of the wood for good!! Well, at least until next November!!  We only have 2 more days of left of hunting season and I could not be more excited!!  Now I have to find fun things for us to do on Friday nights and Saturdays now that the bf's time will not be taken up with morning drives, tracking dogs, and shooting poor Bambi!!  If y'all have any good ideas please let me know!!!!

2.  Bridal Show this Sunday with the girls--  This Sunday I am going a bridal show with one of my best friends (the bride) and some of her other bridesmaids to scope out some good ideas for her upcoming wedding in May!!!  We have been before and won free dance lessons, so maybe this time we will get lucky and win something super fun for her wedding!!

3.  Back to normal routine--  As much as I love Christmas break and being off from work for 2 weeks, I also missed my routine!!  I was all out of wack from break, but now that school has started everything is falling back into place!!  Also, TV schedules are going back to normal too!!  I have missed not having Glee, PPL, Big Bang Theory and Modern Family to look forward to each week!!!

4.  A brand New Year--  I know, I am about a week late with this one, but I am excited for this year!  I hope for amazing things to happen this year, and I will definitely share if anything exciting happens!!!
Happy New Year!!!! Sorry so late!!!
5.  Time to free my wallet of some of the gift cards I received during Christmas--  Yay!!  I always say that I am going to save up my gift cards until I find something that I really need, but all these cute clothes I have been seeing I definitely need!!!!  Cannot wait to shop!!!!

Happy Friday Y'all!!

Creative "anytime" Wrapping!

With a special thanks to Pinterest, I decided back in November that I wanted to do something a little different with the gifts I was giving this year.  I found about a million ideas on Pinterest, but I knew I would not know exactly what I wanted to do until I went shopping for all of my supplies!

Besides the alphabet stamps that I already had, I did not have anything else to decorate the gifts, so I dragged my wonderful bf to Hobby Lobby, and by dragged I mean he gave me 10 minutes to find what I needed.  Little did he know how big and how much awesome stuff Hobby Lobby had, so about 30 minutes later I finally came out with some cool ribbons, twine, and pom-pons.  But this was not all I needed, I still needed to wrap the presents, I finally found the brown craft paper I was looking for at Target (if you are curious, after Christmas I found a huge double roll of the paper at Wal- Mart).

Once I was finally ready to sit down and wrap all of my presents, I intended to wrap them all first then decorate them later, but that plan did not work out and I ended up decorating them as I wrapped them.  It may have taken a little longer than a normal wrapping job, but it was really fun deciding how I would decorate each person's gift!
Here are some pictures of my favorites (which is just about all of them!)

I hope these tips below help you get creative when wrapping!!

1. Lace, ric-rac, buttons and twine were my favorite to use.  I also acquired a new love for bakers twine, I now have green and red with every intention of adding more colors to my collection.
2.  I tried to have use a common theme when decorating, such as a color, but I found that I liked to decorate based on who the gift was for.

3.  ANYTHING can be used!!!  My mom had a bunch of old fabric scrapes that I used.  I used sequins, lace, and pom-pons strung on thread too.  Anything that can be wrapped around the box is perfect!
4.  Add a little something extra for the kiddies!!  I included a lollipop ornament to make theirs a little more special.
5.  My best "investment" was purchasing the alphabet stamps!!  They were about $25, but I figured after spending money on gift tags it would probably equal about the same.  They are nice too because you can add what ever you want, not only names!

6.  Mix and match different colors and materials.  I loved the look of metallic ric-rac paired with grey velvet ribbon.

7.  Some of the decorations can be saved and reused, especially the buttons and ric-rac!!
8.  Use paper other then craft paper!  Maps, newspaper, and even paper grocery bags would be cool!!

I hope this has inspired y'all to take a little more time and custom decorate your gifts!!!
Have fun and get creative!!!

Cake Pops!! A Huge Hit!!

OK, like I said the other day, here is the start of the couple Holiday posts that definitely did not get posted before the Holidays!!

This year for the teachers and some of the neighbors I decided to take on the task of making CAKE POPS!!!  Leave it to me to try and make something that I have never ever attempted to do, much less even know how to make in the first place!!  I was a little nervous when I started making the pop, partly because I was kinda making up what I was doing as I went along, but mostly because I started the process after work on Monday, the pops were to be given on Tuesday, and every recipe I read told me to let the cake cool for 4-6 hours!!  I defiantly did not have 4-6 hours for my cake to cool, but I completed my project in a somewhat timely manner with cake pops that (I thought) were pretty and (what others thought to be) delicious.

I will show you the steps that I took to make the pops, and at the end I will tell y'all a few tips to hopefully help y'all out if you ever try to make them yourselves!!

Step 1:Bake the cake! (duh!!)  Since this was my first time making them, I decided it would be easiest to use a box cake mix.

Step 2: After the cake cools, break it up into small sections to make it easier to crumble

Remember how I said I did not wait 4-6 hours for the cake to cool??  This is how I speed up the process!!  Which was fine, because this is one of the steps, I just did it a little sooner!!

Step 3:  Crumble the entire cake into a bowl and add about 3/4 of a container frosting. Mix it all together until the cake is sticky enough to mold into shapes

Step 4:  After everything is all mixed together, roll the cake mixture into little balls, that measure about an inch in diameter.  Place the little balls on a cookie sheet that has been lined with parchment paper, so they wont stick!

Step 5: Once the entire batch has been rolled into little balls,  place them into the refrigerator for about an hour so that they harden up some.  Again, I did not have an hour to wait, so I put them into the freezer for about 15 minutes.
While I was waiting for the balls to harden in the freezer, I set up my dipping station (to the right).  For my first time, I decided to take it easy and decorate the pops with sprinkles and candy cane bits.

Step 6 and 7: Melt the candy coating and put the little balls in the fridge so they do not freeze.
Once the coating in melted take a few of the balls out of the fridge and get ready to start dipping!!

Step 8:  Dip the stick in the melted candy and then put the stick into the cake pop and then dip that into the candy coating.  Make sure that the entire pop is covered, then tap it lightly on the side of the bowl to get the excess coating off.
Step 9: DECORATE!!!  I Just dipped the tops of mine into white sprinkles and candy cane bits.

Step 10:  Let the candy coating harden then they are ready to eat!!!
My first cake pop!!!!

The decorating part of the process surprisingly did not take as long as I had anticipated.  I'm sure if I made them into Christmas trees or something, it would have taken longer, but I like their simplicity.

This one did not want to stay on the stick, so I decided it would be the perfect on to taste!!

This was my "gifting station"  I put each pop into a cookie bag and tied green ribbon around them.

The finished product all wrapped and ready to be given away!!

Now that I have made cake pops and cake balls (made at a later date), there are a few tips that I wish I had known prior to making these.  Hopefully they will help y'all out if you decide to make cake pops!!
1.  Having different stations helped to save time and are good to stay organized.
2.  Breaking apart the cake after it had cooled a little bit helped it cool faster
3.  Having a box or a piece of styrofoam to stick the pops in to harden is necessary.  I only had a big box on hand to use, but I think that a large piece of styrofoam would be the best choice, especially if you are putting lots of detail into your decorating.
4.  Cake pops (to me) were much easier and cleaner then cake balls.  A few nights after I made the pops, I made some cake balls.  They tasted just the same, but the dipping process took much more time and was messier, but that could have been because I made up my own way to dip them!
5.  If you put the pops in the freezer to harden, after they have been in there for 15-20 minutes, move them to the fridge so they do not freeze.
6.  When dipping the pops. make sure your bowl is deep enough.  This allows you to dip the entire pop at once.
7.  Cake pops and balls are perfect for any and all holidays and occasions!!!  They are perfect DIY favors for wedding, birthday parties and gift baskets, and the decorating ideas are endless!!  hopefully I will get brave soon and try something a little more adventurous when decorating!!!

Whew!!  That's a long one!!  I hope y'all enjoy and trust me cake pops are easy to make and everyone will love them (and think you are an amazing baker)!!!!!
