Meet Rockett-- Our very own Elf on the Shelf

I am sure that many people have heard of the whole concept of Elf on the Shelf, but yesterday was the first time that I had really sat down to figure out what this little guy was all about.  

The story behind this little Elf is that Santa sends him to you (in many different ways) and he watches over you each day and at night, when you are sleeping, he uses Christmas magic to fly back to the North Pole to report back to Santa to tell him if you have been naughty or nice, then he flies back to your house, picks a new hiding spot and gets ready for the next day's duties.  He repeats this routine each day until Christmas Eve night when he stays in the North Pole with Santa and returns at the start of next year's holiday season.  

One important factor is that no one can touch him!!! If someone does, his Christmas magic will disappear and he will no longer be able to report to Santa!  

Santa sent my niece her very own Elf and she named hers Rockett... So I though that I would post a picture each morning to document where Rockett was hiding each morning for Avery to find.

It is so fun hearing the different theories that Avery comes up with about why he is hiding in his different spots!! I will be sure to share her super cute and funny theories!!   

I cannot wait to see the other fun places that he decides to hide!!!
